Let’s get within the planetary boundaries together

By supporting the Reduction Roadmap Association, you support a timely green transition of the construction industry and society at large, ultimately enabling the industry to operate within planetary boundaries and thereby securing the foundation for the industry’s continued viability.

We are rapidly exhausting our CO₂ budget, species are going extinct faster than ever, and we’re consuming Earth’s resources faster than they can regenerate. The construction industry has a big part to play in this - but we can also be part of the change!

No single industry actor can make the change alone, but together, we have the skills and the ability to transform construction and serve as a strong source of political inspiration. Achieving this will require a broad coalition of actors across the value chain, sharing solutions, know-how, and experience. That’s why the Reduction Roadmap partnership has founded the Non-profit Association Reduction Roadmap.

The formal purpose of the association is “to enable a timely green transition of the construction industry and society as a whole, ultimately to map out how the industry can operate within planetary boundaries and thereby secure the foundation for its continued existence” (bylaws, 2024, available for download below).

The Non-profit Association Reduction Roadmap will work as a think tank, translating new and existing knowledge on planetary boundaries into specific, scalable, and publicly accessible goals, strategies, action plans, and solutions for the built environment and society at large.

These initiatives aim to inspire actual change and action among individuals, businesses, organizations, authorities, and others, by defining the parameters we need to follow – driven by research rooted in the planet's limits.

The association’s work will extend throughout Denmark and internationally, advocating for Denmark to lead in developing and implementing necessary solutions. While the association is founded in the Danish construction industry, its work will span various industries and sectors.

The Non-profit Association Reduction Roadmap has its secretariat with the Danish Chamber of Commerce and remains independent of political and commercial interests.

How do we scale the application of the association’s work internationally (e.g. in the European Union)?
